Our club has been inspired to create these awards and name them after our former Rotary member and friend, the late Bob Ward.

These awards are held to recognise vocational excellence of the highest order and to honour outstanding contributions by individuals or small teams of individuals and for significant advancement in their vocational field, inspire further enthusiasm and to give added reward to exceptional achievers, set an example to others, particularly youth, of the need to strive for vocational excellence for the benefit of their discipline and the broader community. The best of the best in our businesses.

Our club has named these awards after our former Rotary member, Councillor and friend the late Bob Ward. Bob’s background was in accounting, finance, real estate and training. Bob worked tirelessly for the Central Coast Community which he was so passionate about.

Bob was elected to Gosford City Council in September 2012 and was Deputy Mayor for two years. He was the Chairman of Council’s Employment and Economic Development Committee. Bob was appointed, as one of the Central Coast Council’s two representatives, on the Hunter and Central Coast Joint Regional Planning Panel, in June, 2016. Bob was also a member of Central Coast Council’s Local Representation Committee and Chairman of Council’s Community Working Group.

Bob was a wonderful mentor, who approached everything he did with energy

and enthusiasm. In addition to his roles with Council, Bob was a long-term

member of Rotary and contributed to many other community organisations,

including the Top Blokes Foundation, which he championed as a cause that

would improve young men’s mental health and reduce their anti-social and

risk-taking behaviours.
